Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the virtues of family football scholarship with social service. At first, he was raised by Lucious and Jessie Selmon on their Eufala farm as the youngest of nine kids. He was also one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma in football. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the country by Outland, Lombardi and the Outland Awards. In his three years as the starting line-up Oklahoma finished 32-1-0 and won two national championships. In 1975, he was awarded his third scholarship, and was awarded the title of a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in educational studies. Fourth Service in the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. Following college, he moved to Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers were all-pro three times before launching a professional career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked for these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute in the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no doubt that he was named one of the top 10 notable young men across the United States in 1982 by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1982. In his student days, Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing a little over 256 pounds. He played for his school's team in the year 1975. He became assistant director of Athletics for the University of South Florida, in 1993. It was the College Football Hall of Fame was named for him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. He and his parents Lucious and Mary Selmon. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor of Oklahoma who conferred this award.
